What To Expect From Your Fire Inspection

Whether you’re operating a commercial business or a private entity, each market vertical has its own specifications that must be met to ensure fire safety compliance. When receiving a fire inspection from LMC, you know what you’re getting - and we know what we’re doing. Regular inspections can prevent devastating losses from fires; here’s everything you need to know about keeping your employees and clients safe with LMC-conducted fire inspections.

Rigorous Testing

LMC will test all of your fire alarm devices per National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 72 requirements. To test a smoke detector, for example, we use various tools to imitate smoke, trigger the detector to activate, and thus set the fire panel off. At the fire panel, our technicians will check that the smoke detector activates and identifies the proper location of the smoke. This is essential when firefighters need to efficiently and immediately identify the source of smoke in a building.

We will perform these processes with all of the fire alarm devices in your building. This means each device is tested, and all audiovisuals are sounded to ensure proper execution. If needed, we will also conduct sprinkler, fire pump, extinguisher, and suppression hood inspections.

Recorded Examinations

We will provide complete documentation of all testing and deficiencies, as well as step-by-step solutions. We will then complete or coordinate installation and/or repair services — this ranges anywhere from making sure your emergency lighting has the proper battery backups to replacing frayed extension cords with grounded ones intended for heavy-duty use.

Tailored to Your Business

For healthcare customers, documents are tailored to Joint Commission (TJC) compliance and surveyors (EC.02.03.05 EP1 – EP28 compliance). We will ensure adherence to NFPA and Joint Commission testing schedules.
